Mathematics

  At Ward End Primary we aim to ensure that all pupils develop a deep understanding of mathematics. The pupils will have the skills and confidence to solve a range of problems through fluency in number mathematical reasoning.

At Ward End Primary we follow the White Rose maths scheme and adapt according to the needs of our children. The teaching of fluency of number facts and times tables is an ongoing focus with weekly practice in every year group.

NCETM's Mastering Number is followed in Reception, Y1 and Y2. This programme aims to secure firm foundations in the development of number sense for all children in Reception and Key Stage 1.
