Geography
Geography explains the past, illuminates the present and prepares us for the future. What could be more important than that?
- Michael Palin
At Ward End Primary School, we aim to develop our young geographers and their natural fascination with the world around them through exciting and memorable learning experiences, including fieldwork opportunities. We seek to inspire our pupils to raise questions and develop their own sense of curiosity. Our pupils will be given opportunities to develop their understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s physical and human processes. Underpinning all of this is strong spatial awareness that deepens their understanding of what places are like, why and how they are connected. Children should leave Ward End Primary with a sense of their place in the world, both culturally and physically, and a desire to enquire into the world around them.
